Thinline

Thinline is a unique brand that started out producing quality saddle pads and has since expanded into other areas of the market. ThinLine is an open-cell foam which moves shock, weight, and heat laterally across the pad. Beginning as a liquid, microscopic cells are poured into a mold then polarized so each cell lies end to end creating a tunnel. Another layer is poured on top and polarized in a new direction, this process is repeated hundreds of times creating a honey comb matrix allowing impact and heat to move laterally like rings of water when you throw a stone into a quiet pond. ThinLine never bottoms out (like compression based foams) nor does it move away from pressure (like gel) or add so much thickness (most of the saddle pads out there) resulting in saddles that fit too tight and cause great discomfort to horses.

ThinLine distributes so much impact and distributes so much weight and heat horses are more comfortable in their work. Add to this our anti-slip feature and you will see horses growing in confidence and balance. ThinLine horses use their backs more, traveling deeper and rounder than horses without a shock absorbing pad.

Thinline is also breathable. It ventilates keeping tendons, backs and girth areas cool increasing comfort and reducing the possibility of injury. Furthermore, all ThinLine products are infused with active USDA approved anti-fungal and anti-microbial agents rated USDA approved to remain active for 7 years. These agents allow for use on multiple horses. ThinLine products will aid in healthy skin reducing rain rot (scratches).

What's the difference between regular Thinline and Ultra Thinline? Regular Thinline material is 1/4" thick, while Ultra Thinline is 3/16" thick. Ultra Thinline provides all the same great benefits as regular thinline, but it also reduces rider movement improving equitation and harmony between rider and horse. Ultra ThinLine is endorsed by spinal surgeons for riders with sore backs and endorsed by top professionals and competitors for better performance both for the horse and the rider. Whether you are interested in a contour or ultra contour or half pad or ultra half pad, Thinline has just what you are looking for.

Are Thinline pads shimmable? All pads except their basic pads have a pocket for shimming. ThinLine shims are available in two thicknesses for three areas of saddle fit: wither, bridging and cantle lift. ThinLine will NOT affect custom saddle fit. It is the only product vended by over 90% of the Master Saddlers residing in the USA. The Trifecta Cotton Ultra Half Pad is a great shimmable option.
