We field-tested this vest at several horse shows recently and found it to
be very effective in beating the heat. We felt less heat stress, more
energetic, and more alert because the vest was providing the cooling effect, not
our body's own perspiration. They are very comfortable and do not impede your range
of movement in the least. We found they were most comfortable if you vigorously
wring excess water from the vest; otherwise they will dampen your shirt. Apart from
that, we'd give this product an A+ for effectiveness and comfort. And in case you're
wondering, YES, this is essentially the same fabric providing the same benefits in other
products you may have seen for $80-$100. No, you won't get all the fancy color
choices with our vest, but in our minds this is a practical piece of riding and barn gear -
not a fashion statement.
